Happy New Year Oboists!We will be getting 2013 off to a great start with Guest Artist Marlen Vavrikova's visit to BYU. If you are in the area please attend her oboe recital (Jan. 11, 7:30 in the Madsen Recital Hall), oboe masterclass (Jan 12, 10 am, E400, HFAC) and reed class (Jan 12, 1 pm, E400, HFAC). I'll also be performing with BYU's faculty quintet, Orpheus Winds on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 pm, in the Madsen Recital Hall.We had hoped that Marlen Vavrikova would be part of our annual Double Reed Roundup. Unfortunately, there were scheduling conflicts that led to the cancellation of the bassoon guest artist.
